The Motorola Q is Now Available at Verizon Wireless

Hot damn! The Motorola Q has arrive; and you can buy it online for only $199.99 after $100 advance device credit with a new 2-year activation on a voice and data choice bundle plan starting at $79.99 monthly access. In my opinion, two-year commitment is a long time and should you want to leave early, you’ll be charged $175 early termination fee along with other charges.

I’m still on the fence whether to go with Sprint’s 700p or Verizon’s Motorola Q. The third options to screw it and stick with T-Mobile and get the Nokia E-61 when it’s available in the US. There are number of factors to consider such as price and whether EV-DO is worth it. Check out Ben’s article comparing Sprint and Verizon’s price plans – it’s worth a reading if you’re seriously considering the 700p / Q. As far the device goes, I’m leaning towards the 700p. I’ll be in a better position to comment when I get the Q in later next week to perform a side-by-side comparison. If you haven’t done so, check out our first look of the 700p. Get the Motorola Q - here.

Oh - yes, 700p connects to your laptop right out of the box allowing you to take advantage of Sprint’s EV-DO network straight out of the box. You will need third party hardward/software to for the Motorola Q. Not having to carry around an external EV-DO card is extremely attractive!
