Watch the BIGGEST HDTV in Living Color

28 Jul 2006 In: UnderShock

This is a follow-up coverage to the The BIGGEST HDTV in the World article covered on SlashGear a few days back. See the damn monstrous HDTV in living color!

By BIGGEST, I mean the BIGGEST ever. Tokyo racetrack felt the need to install Mitsubishi’s behemoth 8,000 square feet measuring 218 feet wide, 37 feet tall, $28 million HDTV for their patrons to enjoy. Imagine watching a race that’s even larger than life. The TV is so massive that it needs it comes in 35 pieces and requires on-site assembly.

Can you say…OH MY GOD IT’S HUGE?!

Microsoft’s Zune Official Announcement

Microsoft’s Zune Announcement

It’s official, anyone who owns a xxxZune or Zunexxx domain name can cash in! I didn’t expect to get too much information from Billboard Magazine’s article; since it’s probably a good idea for Microsoft to not give everything away. Microsoft confirms Zune is the project, the brand and the device. The new wifi-enabled Zune will possibly allow browsing other user’s libraries, purchasing and downloading songs without a PC or laptop and viewing a “digital locker”. Microsoft wants the Zune to be collaborative and sharing.

It’s interesting that Zune will get it’s content delivered from a brand new online music service; not the Windows Media Player, URGE, PlaysForSure, DRM and may include Portable Media Center.

ZUNE GETS IN THE RING
Microsoft Preps Music Player, Service To Rival Apple’s Wares
BY ANTONY BRUNO

Microsoft officials for the first time have confirmed that the Redmond, Wash.-based company is readying a portable music player and integrated service, shedding new light on a topic that has fueled rampant speculation in news reports and blog postings for weeks.

In an exclusive first interview with Billboard, Chris Stephenson, Microsoft’s new GM of marketing for MSN Entertainment Business, says the company will later this year launch Zune, an umbrella brand for what he says is “a family of hardware and software products” targeting various digital entertainment services.

More on Microsoft Project Argo

Zune Logo

Yes sir, BetaNews is claiming that Microsoft may launch the new digital audio product line as early as October. The site went on to explain that what we previous thought of as Pixas is actually Pyxis, which will go head to head with the Apple Nano featuring the same size, functionality and video support. They’ve also confirmed the new name for the service to support these devices will indeed be called “Alexandria” – that’s an odd name for an online music service. Urge is out and Alexandria is in.

The last piece of info is that public demos and announcements should occur in the late August and last through September with the product launch in October.

Thanks Mike!
