Lynnsie and I are heading off to Johannesburg, South Africa (17 hour flight) tomorrow afternoon then from there take a short 2-hour flight to Cape Town where I’m going to try and get some rest and relaxation (not if my wife can help it, I think she’s got a full week planned out with choked full of activities). I’m not sure if I’ll have access to the Internet as often as I’d like but make sure to check this thread for pics and videos from my trip. I’ll most likely also post on Twitter.com/nguyen as well as my website here.
Our first episode of SlashGear TV week in review is officially online! Each week, Ashley, Bree and I will go through the latest greatest news along with new consumer products that we get in for review.
Meet Bree and Ashley, our hosts for SlashGear.TV week-in-review. I knew they were perfect for the part the first time I saw them. So this first set of bloopers are taken from the pilot episode which we recorded earlier tonight at Soma Cafe in Phoenix. There are more to come, so enjoy.
No one likes spam in any form, but when it comes from a company you already work with, it becomes doubly annoying. Apparently, Parrot hired Feed Company to spam spread the word about an upcoming law in California prohibiting the use of cell phone while driving.
I’m going to chalk this one up there as wah - completely under shocked. Me under shocked? No, no not me of course, but Ballmer. Ballmer was preparing to give a speech at a Hungarian University when he was egged by some guy in the audience. Yes, egged. The protester launched three eggs at Ballmer while challenging Microsoft for “stealing” billions in Hungarian taxpayer money. Ballmer was forced to seek shelter behind a desk.
I just got off the phone with John Mugno, a lawyer with Kaplan & Mugno, a firm based in New York City. The conversation started off pleasantly enough, with me apologizing for for the call drop which had occurred earlier when he had called me and I was in a bad reception area (more on this later). Mr. Mugno began the conversation acting like he didn’t know anything about me, or who I was, but this changed quickly. Mr. Mugno wanted to know if I own a number of domain names. I informed him that as a publishing company, we do own numerous domain names. Everything was going well up to this point.
Surely this couldn’t be “the Smartcar” - right? Believe it or not, it is! I would never consider buying a Smartcar, but heck if this one ever make it across the pond to the US AND the price tag remains in the $10-$12k, I may have to get one!
Anyways, at the risk of looking like a tourist, I grabbed my trusty XACTI HD camera and took these two shots for my buddy Ewdi. Go ahead and drool bud, I know you will.
